Kimberly R. L. Booker grew up in Springfield, Massachusetts, the third of six children. As a young child, she loved going to the neighborhood library, where she always felt safe and welcomed. Her love of books, reading and visiting the library instilled in her the desire to offer the same love for reading to others. It is those memories and more that inspired her to write The Adventures of Hemo book series and naming the main character after her deceased father whose nickname was Hemo. Kimberly graduated from Classical High School and received her under-graduate degree at Framingham State University and graduate degree from American International College. She is the founder of the 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, Youth Educators and Senior Services, (YESS), which serves to identify, establish and provide outreach services and programs to help assist the youth, adults and seniors in our communities. She lives in Richardson, TX with her wonderful husband and two children. In addition to spending time with her family, she also enjoys actively engaging in community service projects, reading, and traveling.
